700 bar H2-refuelling system at the Frankfurt service station has been upgraded in accordance with the release A standard of SAE. Employing a ultra low cold fill to pre-cool hydrogen to -40°C and an infrared communication system at the dispenser vehicle interface a quick refilling is achieved (about 3 minutes for all vehicle storage tanks). A pressure ramp control is used. After the upgrade and safety control tests the dispenser is released for automatic operation. The station will be used for refuelling B-Class F-Cell vehicles of Daimler to further optimise the refuelling process. With communication between vehicle tank and the dispenser 100% state of charge is the target.
